Saw a guy use a screwdriver to pry open a breaker panel today

He was jamming a flathead into the gap between the deadfront and the can. That's how you crack the plastic or hit live bus bars. Am I the only one who keeps seeing apprentices do this instead of just using the proper panel key?

I mean, that panel key trick doesn't work on every model anyway.

@joel_young I've had it work on most of the models I've tried, actually. The trick relies on a pretty standard wiring setup that a lot of manufacturers use. Maybe you just got unlucky with a couple that were wired differently.
