Just changed my mind about using a 0.3mm lead for my main drafting work

I always stuck with 0.5mm because it felt sturdier and I thought the thinner leads were just for tiny details. But my coworker, Mark, who does a lot of electrical schematics, let me try his 0.3mm Rotring 800 on a site plan last week and the line clarity was way better for dimensioning. I ended up re-doing a whole section of a residential plot in Boulder because the 0.3mm kept my notes from looking smudged. Anyone else made a switch like that and have a lead hardness they pair with it?

Find you need to change your lead hardness to match that finer point?

Guess Mark just cost you a fortune in new drafting supplies, huh?
