Had to pick between a full dining set or just a table from that Facebook Marketplace lot
I grabbed the whole set for $200 because the chairs matched perfectly, but now two of them have wobbly legs I gotta fix. Has anyone else found themselves taking on extra furniture repair just to save a deal?

Oh man, I used to be all about grabbing the best deal no matter what, but then I snagged a vintage table for cheap and the chairs were a disaster. I spent a whole weekend tightening joints and regluing legs, and honestly it was kind of satisfying (plus saved me like $400 compared to buying new). Now I actually look for pieces with a little character and wear, because fixing them up feels more like a win than just buying something perfect.

That part about "character and wear" REALLY hits home for me. I found this old wooden rocking chair at a garage sale that had this HUGE crack in the seat, and I almost walked away. But I filled it with wood glue and clamped it overnight, and now it's literally the most comfortable chair in my house. There's something about putting in that work that makes the piece feel like YOURS, you know? Plus you learn all these random skills like when to use a dowel vs a screw, which is way more useful than I ever thought.
