Accidentally used fabric softener on my microfiber cloths and ruined them all
I threw a batch of microfiber towels in the wash with some liquid softener last Tuesday without thinking. They went from picking up dust perfectly to just smearing everything around on my kitchen counter. Learned the hard way that softener clogs the fibers and now I have to replace 12 cloths I bought from Costco. Has anyone else made this mistake or found a way to restore them?

Boiling them in vinegar might loosen some of that softener gunk.

@alex_taylor10 did boiling in vinegar actually work for you or did it just make them smell like pickles lol

Did the vinegar smell stick around or did it fade once they were dry? Also, did it mess with the fabric at all or just strip the gunk?
