That cheap paint sprayer from harbor freight was a total waste of $60

I bought one of those $60 HVLP paint sprayers to do my kitchen cabinets last spring. Figured it would save me time over brushing and rolling. First pass went okay but then it started spitting chunks of paint halfway through a door. Cleaned it three times and it kept clogging on me. Ended up trashing it and finishing the whole kitchen with a brush and a foam roller. The finish actually looked better with the roller too. Has anyone had better luck with a budget sprayer than I did or is it all just junk until you spend over $200?

My buddy actually grabbed one of those same sprayers for staining some fence panels. First day he got maybe half the fence done before the nozzle started acting weird. By day two it was just dripping more than spraying and he couldn't get it to stop splattering. He tore it apart a couple times but finally just chunked it in the trash and used a pump sprayer instead. Between the two of us we figure it's just not worth messing with anything under a hundred bucks for paint...

i mean that might be more of a viscosity issue with the stain than the sprayer itself, most of those cheap handheld ones can't handle anything thicker than water. idk if anyone checks the specs on what they're spraying before they start.
