Had to redo my kitchen backsplash 3 times before I got it right
I used to just slap tile up with a notch trowel and hope for the best, but after the second row slid down and cracked on a Tuesday afternoon, I finally pulled out a level and a laser guide. Borrowed my neighbor's laser level from his shop, and it took me half the time with zero do-overs. Anyone else fight with leveling spacers or just me?

Did you check if your walls were actually level before you started? I spent hours fighting with spacers once, only to realize the wall had a slight bow that was making everything tilt.

Oh man, @owens.willow you just reminded me of my own nightmare! I spent a whole weekend redoing my backsplash because I assumed the wall was straight. Turned out the drywall had this weird dip right where I started tiling. By the time I got to the fourth row everything was off by almost half an inch. Had to pull it all down and shim the whole thing with cardboard strips just to get it close to level. I mean, who knew walls could be so crooked?
