Debate: Should I wait for the glue to fully cure or rush and fix it now?

I was replacing a cracked countertop in my kitchen in Austin last week, used construction adhesive to glue down a butcher block section. The instructions say 24 hours to cure, but I needed the sink functional for a party that evening. I went ahead and connected the plumbing after 6 hours... now the seam is slightly lifting on one corner. Was I too impatient, or is this just bad glue for humid climates? Has anyone else dealt with a partial cure failure on stone or wood surfaces?

Party rushed it, six hours wasn't nearly enough for humid Austin.

I actually gotta push back a little on the six hours thing. I was there and the heat index was already pushing 95 by 10am, so dragging it out longer would've been brutal for everyone standing in the sun. Plus the sound ordinance in that part of town kicks in at 11pm sharp, not like they could just keep going past midnight. They packed in the main acts pretty tight but that's usually how it goes with outdoor venues in the summer around here.
