Plywood vs. MDF for a garage workbench I built last week
I had to pick between 3/4-inch plywood and MDF for a new workbench. Went with plywood at $45 a sheet from Home Depot because I figured it'd hold up better against moisture. Sanded it down and oiled it with Danish oil, thing is solid as a rock. Anyone else have strong feelings about workbench tops?

Oh man, that Danish oil is a solid call. Did you hit the edges with an extra coat or two? I've seen too many plywood tops start peeling at the corners when people skip that step.

Peel back a few layers of that wax with a rag after the first coat dries, @dakota_taylor39, and you'll catch those edges better. I usually do two light passes on the corners, then let it sit for an hour before buffing. That extra bit of oil seeps into the plywood grain and keeps the surface from splitting when the humidity swings.
