That $80 VPN subscription kept my neighbor out of my router

Last month I caught my neighbor using my wifi without asking. I paid $80 for a year of a VPN service and set it up on my router, which hides my traffic from my ISP and anyone snooping. It also let me lock down my network so only my devices connect now. The router setup took about 20 minutes, but the peace of mind is worth it. Has anyone else had a neighbor or roommate try to piggyback on their connection? How did you handle it without being weird about it?

Funny enough, that reminds me of when my old landlord kept using our backyard hose without asking to wash his truck. Locking the spigot felt weird at first, but honestly it was the same vibe as you locking down your wifi. People get real bold about stuff that isnt theirs once they think nobody will call them out on it.
