Picked a VPN with a no-logs policy and gave up some speed for it

Last month I had to decide between two VPN services. One was super fast but kept connection logs for 24 hours. The other was slower by about 15% but had a verified no-logs policy from an audit. I went with the slower one because my job involves handling client legal documents from home. Now my downloads take a bit longer but I don't worry about anyone tracking what I do online. Has anyone else traded speed for privacy and regretted it or felt more at ease?

Noticed the same thing in how people pick phones and cars now too. Everyone wants the fastest thing out there but doesn't stop to think about who's tracking them or what data gets collected along the way. Kind of feels like we've forgotten that just because something moves fast doesn't mean it's actually taking you where you want to go.

Ugh yeah I feel you on this one. That 15% speed hit is annoying but honestly it sounds like you made the right call given the work you do with legal docs. I think about this all the time when I see people bragging about their VPN speeds but ignoring what data is actually being collected. Plus slower downloads are way less stressful than that nagging feeling that someone could be logging your traffic. The peace of mind from knowing your browsing is actually private is worth the extra minute or two on file transfers.
