Deleted my Instagram for 2 weeks and my mom called the cops
I told my family I was taking a digital break after my cousin got doxxed from a tagged location photo last month. She couldn't reach me on messenger either so she filed a welfare check on Tuesday. How do you balance setting boundaries with family who panic when you disconnect?

I mean, calling the cops seems a bit extreme for just not posting pics.

Right, because nothing says "emergency" like a missing sunset photo from a vacation. Next time my buddy doesn't text back fast enough, I'll just dial 911 and report a suspicious lack of communication. I bet the dispatcher would love to hear how a hashtag is being held hostage. Pretty soon, we'll have to call in a SWAT team for anyone who forgets to like a post. Honestly, the whole internet is just one big hostage negotiation now.
