Finally started using noise-canceling headphones in co-working spaces

I always thought they were overpriced and just a gimmick, but after 3 months of struggling to focus in busy cafes in Chiang Mai, I grabbed a pair. Now I get my deep work done in 2 hours instead of 4. Anyone else have a gadget they were slow to adopt?

I got a standing desk converter way later than I should have. Sat for hours on end in cafes and my back was killing me. Picked one up for like 80 bucks on sale, and now I switch between sitting and standing every 45 minutes or so. That little change made a bigger difference in my focus than I expected.

Oh man, @kim_martin, you're telling me. I bought one of those cheap riser things last year and it's the closest I've come to feeling like I have my life together. I stand for about 20 minutes, then I feel like a show-off and sit back down. Then my back starts complaining again so I stand up and pretend I'm a serious professional. It's a whole cycle. But hey, my posture is slightly less tragic now.

Question whether it's really that serious. @wadeyoung sounds like they've got a whole ritual going, but I just feel like if you sit that much you might need a new chair or something, not a desk upgrade.
