Stopped letting my agency bill hourly on ad tweaks and switched to a flat $800 monthly, my stress dropped in a week
I run a small bakery in Portland and for 10 months I was paying my marketing agency by the hour, which meant every little ad change came with a ticking clock and a $150 invoice. Last month I asked them to just charge me a flat $800 a month for ad management and they said yes way faster than I expected. Turns out they were spending most of those billable hours moving commas around in my Google Ads and reporting on stuff I never read. Now they only touch things that actually move sales and I stopped dreading the invoice email. Has anyone else gotten an agency to drop hourly billing, and did they try to sneak the hours back in some other way?
