I was ready to scrap a whole piece after my tablet froze up
I was working on a big background for a client piece in Fresno, and my old Wacom just stopped taking any pen input with the file open. I saved a backup from two hours before, but then I just opened the file on my phone's drawing app and did the rough color blocking there before sending it back to my computer to finish. Has anyone else had to switch devices in the middle of a project to save it?

My old Intuos did that last year. Switched to my iPad to finish a lineart once. It's a lifesaver.

Wait, you can just pick up on a different screen like that? I mean, my phone's way too small to draw anything real on, and the colors never look right. I tried it once with a sketch and the file got all messed up when I moved it back to my desktop. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather redo those two hours than risk the whole piece looking off.

Depends on the app and file type honestly. I use Krita on my laptop and the mobile version opens the same .kra files perfectly. The layers and brushes all stay put, so switching to my phone for blocking is just like using a second screen.
