I finally asked an old guy at the truck stop in Bakersfield why he never uses a torque wrench on injector caps
He was working on a 5.9 Cummins in the lot and just used a regular ratchet. He said, 'Kid, after you've done a thousand of these, your arm knows 18 foot-pounds.' It was 95 degrees out and his hands were all grease. I tried it on a 6.7 Powerstroke back at the shop and it actually seated perfect. Do you guys trust feel for stuff like that or stick to the book every time?

Honestly depends on the part for me. Something like an injector or a head bolt, I'm grabbing the torque wrench every single time. But a valve cover or an oil pan drain plug? My arm is calibrated enough for that. What about you, do you ever skip the torque wrench on the more critical stuff?

Ever strip a critical bolt, @kaip11?
