Had a Cummins ISX throw a rod on I-94 outside Detroit last Tuesday

I was rolling eastbound around mile marker 210 when I heard this knock that just didn't sound right. Pulled over at the rest stop and found oil all over the underside of the hood. Turns out the number 6 rod bearing let go, must have been a lubrication issue from a bad oil change three weeks back. Had to call a tow to get it to a shop in Ypsilanti, cost me $600 just for the tow. Has anyone else seen these ISX engines eat bearings after a certain mileage?

That six hundred dollar tow hurt just reading it. Man, that's rough. Heard of similar problems on high mileage ISX's, usually the rod bearings starve for oil. How many miles on yours?

Buddy of mine had the exact same thing happen on his ISX at 480k. Rod let go on I-80, turned his oil pan into a grenade.
