Bought a sonic tester for injectors off a Facebook ad, lost $350

Saw this guy selling a used sonic injector tester on a diesel parts group. Said it was barely used, worked perfect. Sent him $350 through PayPal friends and family like a dummy. Showed up with a cracked transducer and missing the test fluid. Tried to message him and he ghosted me. My own fault for not using goods and services. Anybody else get burned buying shop tools from random Facebook sellers?

I mean yeah, you pretty much said it yourself. "Sent him $350 through PayPal friends and family like a dummy." That's the hard lesson right there. If you ever buy anything off a Facebook group or marketplace, always use goods and services even if they ask for the fee. I've had guys try to talk me out of it saying they need the money fast or their PayPal is acting up. That's a red flag every time. Also a cracked transducer and no fluid means that tester was probably sitting in a wet garage for months before he listed it. Sorry you got burned, but at least you know to check for the little things next time.
