My conversation with the ice machine repair guy changed how I think about maintenance

Had a chat with a guy fixing the ice machine at our Detroit cafe last Tuesday. He said he sees the same problems over and over because nobody ever cleans the coils until it breaks down. He told me "spending 20 bucks on a brush now saves you 400 on a compressor later" and I realized I treat my whole business the same way. Anyone else have a random service person drop knowledge like that?

Is it weird that this makes me want to call our furnace guy just to ask what stupid thing I'm doing wrong before it breaks mid-winter? Feels like every time I skip a little thing I end up paying double later.
