My neighbor said I should stop watering my lawn in the afternoon and it's messing with my whole routine
I was out with the hose yesterday around 3 PM, like I always do, and my neighbor Bob from two doors down just walks over and says, 'You know, you're basically just paying to evaporate water right now.' He explained that watering in the heat of the day means a lot of it just goes into the air before it even hits the roots, and I should really do it early in the morning. I've been doing my 20-minute afternoon water for years because it fits right after I get home from work. Now I'm stuck. Do I try to wake up 30 minutes earlier to save on the water bill, or just keep my easy schedule and accept the waste? Has anyone else switched their watering time and actually noticed a difference in their grass or their bill?

Try waking up earlier for a week and see if your lawn looks better. I did that last summer and my grass was definitely less sad and crispy. I mean, I hated the alarm clock, but the lower water bill was nice.

My lawn's still dead, but I'm tired.

That dead grass will still be there after a nap.
