Finally broke down and bought that $180 zero turn mower blade sharpener
I've been getting by with a bench grinder for years and my lawn always looked a little ragged. The new sharpener cost me $180 but it paid for itself after I did the whole yard in one go - the cut is so clean I can actually see the difference. My neighbor Tom even asked what I changed because his grass clippings aren't clumping anymore. Has anyone else found a tool that seemed overpriced but actually saved you time?

Gosh, I had a similar thing with a battery powered pole saw. I kept fighting with a manual one and my shoulders hated me after a weekend of trimming, but spending $150 on the battery model cut my work time by more than half and my trees actually look properly shaped instead of chewed on. Did you notice your mower blades needing sharpening less often with the cleaner cut too?

Hold up @linda_murphy, is it really that big of a deal? I mean, I just hit my mower blades with a file every couple months and they're fine. Maybe I'm lazy but I don't think a slightly cleaner cut is gonna save you that much time on sharpening.
