Vent: my upstairs sink drained slow for 11 days and a $4 drain snake beat the $90 plumber visit
For about a week and a half my bathroom sink would fill up with an inch of water and take forever to drain, and I kept putting off calling anyone about it. A buddy at work mentioned I should try pulling the stopper out first, which I did, and it was covered in this gross black gunk that took two minutes to wipe off. When that only helped a little, I grabbed a cheap $4 hair snake from the hardware store on 5th and pulled out what looked like a small animal. It drains in about 3 seconds now and I canceled the plumber who wanted $90 just to show up. Anyone got a trick for the kitchen sink next, or is that one actually worth paying for?
