The $3 hand pump that beat my $80 electric inflator
Last month I bought a cheap hand pump for my bike tires because I was tired of the electric one dying mid-inflate. I figured it would be a backup at best, but after 4 uses it's now my go-to. The electric one takes 90 seconds and makes a racket, the hand pump does it in 2 minutes with zero noise and I can actually feel the pressure. I checked my tire gauge after both and the readings were identical, so no accuracy loss either. Turns out the simple tool was more reliable the whole time. Has anyone else found the fancy version of something just isn't worth the extra cash?
