Just realized setting a 5 minute timer for each load of laundry keeps me from forgetting it in the washer for hours

I tried that trick someone posted here last week and after three days straight of actually pulling clothes out while they were still damp, I can't believe I went ten years just letting them sit and get musty, has anyone else had this work for them or am I just lucky?
