A cashier at my local grocery store saved my whole day last Tuesday

I was trying to buy a birthday cake for my kid, but my card kept getting declined (turns out my bank put a hold on it for a weird reason). The cashier, a guy named Mark, saw I was upset and just said, 'Don't worry about it, take the cake. You can pay me back tomorrow.' He let me walk out with a $35 cake on his word. I came back the next morning and paid, but his trust just floored me. Has anyone else had a worker go that far out on a limb for them?

That kind of trust is getting rare, but it makes you remember most people are pretty decent, right?
