Is it weird how the most honest feedback about our characters can feel like a direct hit on ourselves? I've noticed that pattern everywhere, like when a friend casually points out that you always cancel plans last minute, and suddenly you're rethinking your whole personality. Or when a coworker says your emails sound kinda cold, and now you can't stop reading every message you send in that tone. That beta reader probably saw something in your antagonist that you didn't want to admit about yourself, maybe a flaw you've been ignoring.
