Switched from a lattice boom to a hydraulic truck crane last summer... no contest

Ran a lattice boom for five years in St. Louis, then my buddy convinced me to try his hydraulic for a bridge job. The setup time alone went from 45 minutes to about 12, and I didn't have to fight with cable adjustments all day. Anyone else make the switch and wish you did it sooner?

Heard a guy say hydraulics cut his crew in half.

Honestly Casey, that's rough. I've been there with a similar situation on a site years back. We had a small crew and a broken backhoe that just wouldn't quit. What worked for me was pulling the team together for a quick huddle first thing in the morning to map out the day and figure out who could handle what. It didn't fix the equipment, but it kept us from stepping on each other's toes and cut down on the headaches. @casey_lane73, if you're dealing with the same thing, maybe try that before the crew gets any more spread out.
