Lost $800 on a faulty load cell for my Liebherr LTM 1050
I bought a refurbished load moment indicator from a guy online last fall for my 50 ton rig. It worked for about three weeks then started giving me wild readings, like showing 5 tons when I had 20 tons hanging. Had to take it to a shop in Tulsa and they said the load cell was fried, cost me another $400 to get the OEM part and install it. Anyone else tried buying used electronics for their crane and had them crap out fast?

You're talking about "fried" like it was a total loss but honestly $800 for a refurbished part that worked for three weeks isn't that bad in my book. Used electronics are always a gamble, especially something as finicky as a load cell. I've bought plenty of used parts over the years and had them last or not, it's just part of the deal when you're trying to save money. Maybe you got unlucky but it's not like the guy sold you a paperweight on purpose.

Wait, you're saying paying $800 for THREE WEEKS of use is "not that bad"? That's like throwing money straight in the trash lmao.
