Bought a $40 laser level for my crane cab and it's been a game changer

I mean, I thought it was a silly buy at first, just a little green laser from the hardware store. But last week we were setting a big HVAC unit on a roof in tight quarters, and lining up the hook by eye was a pain. I stuck the level on the cab window, shot a line down to the ground crew, and we had it placed in one shot. Saved us maybe an hour of fussing around. Anyone else use something simple like that to make the job easier?

Remember when I tried to use a regular bubble level taped to a two-by-four for the same job. The foreman just stared at me like I'd brought a spoon to a gunfight. Your forty dollar laser makes my whole sad operation look like a cave painting. I guess the real tool was the lesson in humility I learned along the way.

Honestly parkermorgan, that cave painting got the job done too.

My first level was a string with a rock tied to it, so I feel you.
