Why does nobody talk about the ethical dilemma of overprocessing hair?

Honestly, I had a client last month who wanted another round of highlights on already fried hair. Tbh, I turned her down even though she offered extra cash, because I couldn't risk her scalp health. Ngl, do you ever feel torn between making money and doing the right thing?

That story from @jamie794 is wild, but honestly the legal threat is pretty empty. A client can't sue you for refusing a service that would cause clear damage. The test strand is the best proof you can get. Turning down that money sucks in the moment, but getting a bad review or causing real injury because you gave in would hurt way more later. It's just not worth the risk to your license or your conscience.

Imagine suing over your own fried hair.

Yeah, that "torn between making money and doing the right thing" part hits hard. My buddy had a client who insisted on a bleach session on hair that was basically mush, swearing she'd sue if he refused. He did a test strand and it snapped off, showed her, and she still argued. He held firm but said losing that big ticket hurt, even though it was obviously the only call.
