My local gas station in Boise used to have the best spicy pickled eggs.

They changed the recipe about three months ago and now they're just sweet and mushy. I heard the old cook who made them retired, so I guess that's why. Anyone know a spot that still does the good, vinegary kind?

Oh man, that's the worst! Actually, I think you might have it backwards though. The old-school, truly vinegary pickled eggs are usually the ones that get a little mushy over time. The sweet, firm ones are often a newer style with more sugar. Maybe the old cook just let them sit longer for that strong punch! I'd try that little spot on Overland near the car wash. Theirs are so sharp they make your eyes water.

Yeah, you're totally right about the mush factor, @emery356. I've left a jar in the fridge for way too long and ended up with egg paste. That place by the car wash is a solid call for the real deal. Just be ready for that vinegar kick to clear out your sinuses for a week.
