Watching a crew use a drone for a roof inspection in my neighborhood
I was walking the dog yesterday and saw a roofing team over on Maple Street. They had a small drone flying over a two story house, taking pictures. The guy holding the controller told me they get the whole roof mapped in about 15 minutes, spotting damage without anyone climbing up. It was way faster and safer than setting up ladders. Has anyone else started using drones for small residential jobs like that?

Saw that same thing last week. My gut reaction was to wave at the drone like an idiot. Made me feel old. Tech is cool but it also shows how bad my own roof probably looks. Still beats watching a guy risk his neck on a ladder though.

You ever wave at a security camera too? I do it without thinking. My own roof looks like a family of raccoons had a war up there, so maybe I should hire a drone to just tell me the bad news from a safe distance.

My neighbor's drone caught me taking out the trash in pajamas last month, lol. I feel you, @logan_lee88, because my wave was pure panic. At least the roof inspection is one awkward moment I get to skip.
