Was dead set against drone mapping on small sites but tried it on a 2 acre job last month

My foreman kept pushing us to use a drone for topo on this little 2 acre commercial lot out in Bakersfield. I thought it was overkill since we could just run a transit in 3 hours. But he insisted so I let him fly it. The drone had the whole site mapped in 12 minutes with like 10x the data points we would have gotten. When we staked it out everything lined up perfect on the first pass. Has anyone else had luck with small scale drone work or is it still mostly for big developments?

Yeah fair point @elizabethwhite but is 12 minutes really that big a deal for one job?

Makes me wonder if we're all just clinging to old habits because change feels risky.
