That job site in Austin nearly lost a crew to unmarked rebar
Walked a foundation pour in Austin last Tuesday and nobody had capped a single vertical bar sticking out of the slab, one guy tripped and came within inches of impaling his thigh, so why are we still skipping those cheap plastic caps on every fast-track build?

How does this keep happening when a bag of caps costs almost nothing? I used to do concrete work before I switched to design and I saw the same thing on a few fast-track jobs, foreman would say they ran out or the caps "got lost" and we'd just pour anyway. Standing next to a guy on a slab full of exposed bar is scary stuff, one slip and it's over. You can bet the schedule gets all the blame but it's really just nobody wanted to spend ten minutes capping bar.
