My wife pointed out our new floor plan app was making me miss the big picture

I was showing her this new 3D layout tool on my tablet, zooming in on stud placements and pipe runs for a kitchen reno. She watched for a minute and said, 'It's cool, but you're looking at it like a puzzle, not a room.' That hit different because she's right. I get so focused on the tech specs, the exact measurements, the clash detection, that I forget to step back and see the space as a whole. Now, I force myself to use the 'walkthrough' mode for five minutes at the start of every planning session, just to see the flow. It sounds simple, but it stopped me from putting a support column right where the breakfast nook should be. Does anyone else have a trick to stop getting lost in the digital weeds?

Oh man, I always print a top-down view and tape it to the wall!

That walkthrough trick is gold, saves you from rookie mistakes.
