Everyone raves about cordless every tool but the corded circ saw still wins for me

Tbh I keep seeing guys on job sites bragging about their battery powered circular saws like they are the best thing since sliced bread. But I did a bathroom renovation last month in an older house near downtown Austin and had to cut through some thick cedar siding. My corded Skilsaw just ripped through it no problem while my buddy's battery saw bogged down after 3 cuts. Yeah batteries are convenient but for heavy framing or long runs I still grab the corded one every time. Am I the only one who thinks we jumped too fast on the cordless bandwagon?

Honestly, your corded Skilsaw shredding that cedar is exactly why I still keep mine in the truck.

Corded tools just don't know when to quit, they'll grind through anything until the cord catches on a branch and yanks you off balance.

And yeah that's the thing with cordless, you're basically gambling on how fresh that battery actually is. I learned that the hard way when I was finishing a deck and my buddy handed me his "fully charged" battery that died after like four cuts through PT lumber. Meanwhile my corded saw just sits there waiting for me, no guessing games. I switched to cordless for my drill and impact driver ages ago but for saws and grinders I just don't trust it yet. Maybe I'm old school but I'd rather deal with a cord than miss a cut because my tool decided to take a nap.
