Spent $400 on a faraday cage bag for my phone, totally thought it was a scam until last week.

My old boss insisted on them for work trips. I thought it was paranoid until my hotel keycard got cloned. Now I get it.

Right? I felt so dumb carrying mine around at first, like I was in some spy movie or something. Then my friend's wallet got skimmed at a gas station and suddenly I'm the one laughing. The hotel keycard thing is real though, I've heard stories about people getting locked out of their rooms mid-trip because some random person grabbed their card info. It's wild how much we just assume all this tech is safe.

That story from @rosep87 about the hotel keycard is exactly the kind of thing I mean. We're all carrying these little radios in our pockets now, our phones and cards and keys. It feels normal until something weird happens. The weird part is how fast we got used to it. I remember when a wallet just held paper and plastic. Now I have to think about signal blocking fabric for my cards. It's a small change that points to a much bigger shift in how we live.
