Used canned air on a client's PC for 6 years before a guy in Phoenix pointed at my own tower
I was at a buddy's place in Phoenix last month and he watched me blast the dust out of a laptop with a can, then he just turned my own desktop around and pointed at the fan. It was caked solid, and I mean a gray felt mat you could peel off in one piece, because all that canned air did was push the junk deeper into the fins. He handed me a $12 anti-static brush and said he stopped using cans back in 2019 after he cooked a GPU fan bearing with the cold spray. I pulled my tower apart that night and found dust packed behind the front filter so thick it was blocking maybe 40% of the airflow. Now I brush everything outside and only hit tight spots with short bursts. How do you all deal with the dust that gets past the filters, shop vac or something else?
lmao same thing happened to me, I thought my case was clean because the side window looked fine, then I pulled the front panel off and it was straight up felt in there. now I just take the whole thing outside and go at it with a brush every few months, way less drama than the vacuum
