Switched from a drill driver to an impact driver for deck screws and it was a painful lesson

I used to swear by my regular drill for everything. Then I got a new deck job 2 months ago with 3 inch screws through treated lumber. First 15 screws stripped out or broke off, lol. My buddy laughed and handed me his impact driver saying I was an idiot for not buying one years ago. Grabbed a Milwaukee M18 impact the next morning and finished the whole 400 screw deck in under 3 hours without a single strip. Has anyone else fought this battle and felt dumb after switching?

Wait, you stripped or broke 15 screws before your buddy stepped in?! That's insane, I would've lost my mind after the third one. How did you even keep going that long?
