TIL my bus pass renewal took 3 weeks because of a tiny typo

I went online to renew my monthly pass like normal, but I guess I typed my email wrong by one letter. The confirmation never came, and I spent two weeks thinking the system was just slow. Finally called the transit office, and the guy found my payment stuck in limbo because the receipt bounced. It took another week of emails and a trip downtown with my ID to sort it. Has anyone else had a simple typo cause a major delay with their commute stuff?

Three weeks for ONE wrong letter in an email address? That's a crazy amount of red tape. You'd think they could just match the payment to your account number or something. My transit system would probably lose the payment forever.

Actually, @dakota_murphy90, they often can't match payments without the right email for security.

Feels like modern systems are built to fail over tiny mistakes. I see it everywhere now, from banking apps to online orders.
