That $22 express bus ticket taught me a lesson about "guaranteed" seats

Last Tuesday I paid 22 bucks for an express bus from downtown to the airport because it said reserved seating, no stops, 35 minutes flat. Got on at 6:40, we sat at the curb for 20 minutes because two passengers argued about their assigned rows, then the driver took a detour around some accident on I-5. Total time: 1 hour 15 minutes. The regular local bus would have been 3 bucks and maybe 10 minutes slower. I would've been less annoyed if the ticket didn't brag about the guarantee. Anyone else burned money on a "premium" commuter option that ended up being worse than the basic one?
