Watched a crane drop a 4,200 lb steel beam at a job site in Dallas and now I double check every rigging plan myself
The rigger swore the sling was rated for 6,000 lbs but the tag was sun bleached and unreadable. That near miss made me start taking photos of every tag on site before we lift anything. Has anyone else had a close call that made you change your whole process?

Sun bleached tags got me too, my dumb self once trusted a faded green one for a whole lift.
