I miss the days when blueprints were actual paper

My old boss back in '04 would kill me if he saw me pull out a tablet on site. We used to roll out 30 foot blueprints on the hood of a truck in the rain. Now I zoom in on a PDF and check rebar spacing in like 10 seconds. Way faster but I dunno, something about getting ink on your hands felt more real. Anyone else still keep a paper set in their truck just in case?

Dropped my tablet in a puddle last week trying to zoom in on a footing detail.

Getting ink on your hands has about the same effect on the final project as having a lucky hardhat, it just feels right. You can do the same work in a fraction of the time with a PDF and nobody's arguing with a tape measure on a tablet. Are we really going to pretend that fighting with wet paper in the wind made us better builders?
