The line for the new X-Men comic at my local shop was all people over 40

I went to Galaxy Comics in Pasadena this morning for the new issue. The line was about fifteen people long, and I was the youngest one there by at least a decade. It felt more like a reunion for people who read comics in the 90s than a new release day. Is this just how it is now, or was my shop an odd case?

Yeah that tracks. The direct market is basically held up by older collectors now. Kids aren't walking into comic shops, they watch the movies and shows. So the people buying floppies are the ones who never stopped, and that crowd is getting older. Your shop is the rule, not the exception. It's a little sad but that's just the business now.

Actually see a decent number of younger folks at my local shop. They're just buying trades and graphic novels, not single issues.
