Question about the big comic book show in San Diego last summer
I went to SDCC 2023 and saw this huge crowd crushing in to get a Jim Lee signature. Some guy told me he waits 4 hours every year for stuff like this, but I just walked past and grabbed a sketch from a smaller artist instead. Which side are you on? Is it worth the long lines for the big names or better to stick with the lesser known tables? I'm curious where you focus your time at these events.

I mean, the guy waiting four hours for a signature thing just sounds kind of nuts to me. You can get way more cool stuff wandering around and talking to smaller artists who actually have time to chat. Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather have a unique sketch and a good conversation than stand in a line half the day.

See @jenny_sullivan97 , but I get why some people do the big lines though. For some folks getting that one big name is the whole point of going. They save up all year just for that one thing. That said, I'm with you on the smaller artists being way more fun. You actually get to talk to them and watch them work which is way better than just standing there. Four hours is a lot of con time to burn on one signature no matter who it is.
