Wasted $120 on a coffee bean subscription that tasted like burnt rubber

I signed up for this monthly subscription from a roaster out of Portland that promised 'small batch perfection.' The first bag smelled okay but the brew tasted like I was drinking ash from a campfire. I tried three different grind settings and even switched to filtered water but it was still TERRIBLE. By the third bag I gave up and threw the rest in the compost bin. Has anyone else fallen for a fancy subscription that just didn't deliver?

Man that really sucks! I hate when you get excited about trying something new and it just completely lets you down. I fell for a similar deal from some hipster roaster in Brooklyn a few years back and it was like drinking dirt water no matter what I did. Makes you wonder how these places stay in business selling burnt garbage for premium prices. At least your compost bin got some use out of it I guess.
