I stopped buying pre-ground coffee 4 months ago and started grinding beans at home
I used to grab whatever was on sale at the store, usually pre-ground, and thought that was fine. Then my brother gave me a cheap hand grinder for my birthday and I figured why not try it. First cup with freshly ground beans tasted so much better I actually dumped my old coffee out. Now I grind right before brewing every morning, takes about 30 seconds and the smell alone is worth it. Has anyone else made this switch and noticed a big difference, or is it just me?
Waited four months to switch? I'm stuck on that part. You had that grinder sitting there for four months before you even tried it once? I would've had that thing out of the box the same night, grinding beans at midnight just to see what the fuss was about. Once you finally did it though, yeah, that first smell hits different and there's no going back after that. My whole family thought I was nuts when I started doing this but now they all ask me to grind for them when they visit.
