Rant: my old drip machine died and a barista in Reno saved my morning routine
My drip maker kicked the bucket 2 weeks ago so I ran to a small cafe in Reno before work, half asleep and grumpy. The barista saw my face and poured me a cup from her own pour over setup, a cheap plastic V60 and a gooseneck kettle she brought from home. She walked me through a 2 minute bloom with water just off boil, no scale, just eyeballing it. I tried it at home the next day and the cup was better than anything my drip maker ever made. Now I'm wondering if I should bother fixing the old machine or just stick with this. Anyone else switch after their gear died on them?
