That Python class at the public library changed how I learn code

I walked into a free Python workshop at the downtown library last month thinking I'd just get some basic syntax and leave. But the instructor had us write a little program to track our library book due dates, and it actually clicked for me. I've been trying to learn from YouTube tutorials for like 6 months and always got stuck around loops and stuff. There's something about doing it in a room with other people who are also confused that just works better. The teacher kept saying 'copy the error message into Google' which sounds obvious but I never did that before. Has anyone else had a big breakthrough from a random free class or event? I'm wondering if I should try a paid bootcamp next or stick with these library sessions.

Wait, the public library has free Python classes? Mine just has those little free bookmarks and a weird smell near the magazines.

Did you see that article about library coding programs being way more effective than online courses?
