Spent a whole Saturday debugging a single missing semicolon

Honestly, I was working on a basic JavaScript project for a beginner course and my code just kept throwing errors. It took me like 4 hours of staring at the screen and comparing with examples before I found it. I must have read that line 50 times but somehow missed a semicolon at the end of a function call. Has anyone else spent way too long on something that simple?

Four hours on a missing semicolon? That's not even a real bug, that's just bad eyes. I've been coding for 8 years and I still miss semicolons but I find them in like 5 minutes with a linter or even just reading the error output. JavaScript errors literally tell you what line the problem is on. You probably spent 3 hours 55 minutes panicking and 5 minutes actually looking. Download ESLint, run it, and move on with your life.

5 minutes with a linter and you'd be done, rookie mistake.
