Took me 5 years to quit using coolant spray cans on every part

I used to reach for a can of spray coolant for every single aluminum job. Going through about 8 cans a week at $6 each added up fast. Then I switched to a mist system from FogBuster about 3 months ago after a buddy in Phoenix showed me his setup. Now I spend maybe $15 a month on concentrate and the finish is actually better. Anyone else dump spray cans for a real system and wonder why they waited so long?

Funny you mention that @cameron_chen, because I was just about to ask if your buddy also charged you for the privilege of being an unpaid coolant spray can salesman. 8 cans a week at $6 each? That's not a hobby, that's a second mortgage on a garage. I'd rather buy a round of drinks for the whole shop every Friday than keep handing my paycheck to the spray can gods. It's almost embarrassing how long it took me to realize I was basically paying someone to let my tools overheat in slow motion. But hey, at least now I can afford to buy a real tool with all that money I used to burn on vapor.

Have you noticed any difference in tool wear since making the switch? I bet the constant flood of mist keeps the cutting edge way cooler than those quick bursts from a can ever could. That alone would make me want to switch over.
